Smart-Girl partners with other nonprofit, girl-serving organizations and provides a flexible, activity-based set of session plans and the training to implement them. Smart Girl offers more than 100 hours of session plans that can be used in a variety of formats and venues from after-school programs, in-school, for-credit courses, summer camps to Saturday morning programs. The following are some examples of our partners and the variety of formats in which Smart-Girl sessions have been offered.
University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) Smart-Girl Leadership Institute
Our partnership with UCCS allows Smart-Girl to offer college credit, both for the training of our guides (2 credit course entitled Smart-Girl Leadership Training), and the internship experience at the undergraduate (3 credit hour course entitled Smart-Girl Group Facilitation) and at graduate level. The guide trainings are offered in January and August and the internships are offered each spring and fall semester. Both UCCS students and members of the community (including high school students and students from other colleges and universities) may enroll in these courses for credit, and the credits may be transferred to other colleges and universities.
