We are so excited to announce a longtime dream come true. This December, we’ll be offering a three day winter break camp for girls in grades 5, 6 and 7.
Come join us for fun, friendship and activities centered around being the best version of yourself in the new year.
When: Dec. 28-30 from 8am-4pm
Where: 155 Inverness Drive W.
$55 per day or $150 for all three days
What to look forward to at camp:
Day 1: Teambuilding and Communication
There’s no escaping it – at some point we are all part of a team. Whether it’s part of a school project, an extra curricular activity, sport, or even just being part of our family, working as part of a team is a necessary skill in today’s world and Smart-Girl can help you thrive in a team. Day 1 of Smart-Girl Winter Break Camp will focus on how to communicate, participate and enjoy being the best team member you can be.
Specific skills we will focus on:
Establishing trust in a new group of friends or on a team;
Learning communication styles: our own and others;
Asking clear questions and giving clear answers;
Accomplishing challenges through teamwork
Day 2: Cultivating strong and healthy relationships
Relationships are all around us. We are daughters, sisters, friends, teammates, students, and so much more to so many others. Join us on Day 2 as we work on the essential skills to make the most of every relationship in our lives.
Specific skills we will focus on:
How to get to win/win with others;
Recognizing when I do and don’t have control;
Recognizing emotions in myself and others;
Clearly expressing my emotions through words.
Day 3: Confidence and Kindness
Confidence begins with being kind to the person in the mirror every morning and spreads from there to others. Day 3 will explore why we’re sometimes unkind to ourselves and how we can change our behavior and thoughts so we can be a better friend to ourselves and others. We’ll also focus on how we can step in and be kind to others when we see them being teased, harassed, or bullied.
Specific skills we will focus on:
How social and traditional media influence the way we think about and treat ourselves;
Power Posing and other tools to give ourselves the extra boost of confidence when we need it;
Becoming an upstander for friends and others.
Please join Smart-Girl for a very meaningful evening! On October 21st, Smart-Girl will guide girls and parents through a workshop with a series of activities and discussions to answer the question, “Who am I?” Both parents and girls will work together to help set goals for today and goals for the future that help them stay true to who they are and who they want to be. Participants will also create a project to take home to help them remember their promises to themselves.
Eight of our amazing Smart-Girls had the privilege of participating the Denver Post’s “Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow” event featuring global women’s educational advocate and youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai.
The event was held on June 24th at the Bellco Theatere. It was an inspirational evening the girls will never forget, and one of our Youth Advisory Council members was randomly selected to go backstage and meet Malala after her talk. Read her thoughts about the experience!

Attention Parents! Smart-Girl is an activity-based program that empowers girls to become confident, capable, self-reliant young women who make healthy choices. In a small-group format, girls establish a safe environment in which they can learn and practice new skills while developing a greater sense of self. Smart-Girl guides girls to develop leadership ability, group and social skills, further develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills, self-worth, and social/emotional intelligence. Smart-Girl Leadership Summer Camp is a great opportunity for pre-teens and teens to meet other girls, have fun and talk about the issues teen girls face every day. Our camps offer an inclusive experience for girls from diverse backgrounds in a welcoming environment.
